My paintings begin with colored marks.  The colored marks start to formulate into shapes and areas.  After a while forms start to emerge and problems present themselves as needing to be solved.  I am focusing on something from my experience. Relationships, situations, personal events, and current events are my subjects.  I am trying to find visual equivalents of color, shape, and form to represent my experiences.  These paintings happen over time and invite me to action in the real world.  The paintings often instigate change in my real life.  They happen for many months and time is painted in layer after layer.  The paintings capture a period of time and also offer a projection about what may be.
